Jacqueline Powell, Esq. is the Managing Attorney and Owner of Jackie Powell & Associates, LLC. The firm represents clients in criminal defense, family law and landlord/tenant actions. Formerly, an Associate with the law firm of Robertson, Anschutz & Schneid, PL where she represented banks and creditors in foreclosure actions. Prior to that she served as Supervising litigation Associate with Choice Legal Group from 2011-2015 where she also represented banks and creditors in foreclosure actions from inception to Judgment.
Attorney Powell holds Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Florida Atlantic University. She received a Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University, Shepard Broad Law in 2003. She has been a member of the Florida Bar since 2003 and has maintained good standing since then, and is also admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
Immediately, after Law school, she joined the Broward County Public Defender’s Office and served as an Assistant Public Defender for almost eight (8) years. During that tenure, she served as a case attorney handling misdemeanor and felony cases from inception through jury trials and sentencing where she represented over 200 clients. Also at the Broward County Public Defender's Office she served as a Supervising attorney for the County Court’s Division Attorneys.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Powell worked as a legal assistant for a law firm which represented clients Section 1983 Federal Actions.
Outside of the legal arena, Attorney Powell has served as Youth Mentor for more than 15 years, mentoring high school youth and preparing them for college. Most recently she has been a volunteer to the Florida Immigration Coalition, assisting permanent residents with citizenship applications.
